I think you have a good topic. it is maybe a bit broad, because there are many types of autism. Maybe you should narrow it down and just explain about social autism, or educational autism...just to give you some ideas. I am not clinically diagnosed, but i do have the symptoms for a social autism. Maybe only focus on one type of autism, so that you don't get overwhemeled with information.
I think you are on the first step of this process. Your purose is very wide and I think you need to narrow it down a lot. Maybe argue whether one cause is right while the other is wrong. Or maybe you can explore possible treatments and argue about which one is better. Otherwise, the way you are going, you are not writing an argumentative paper.
